How this is measured
- Every hour, each service runs once on a small sample file or value: a short PDF, a small image, half a second of audio, a few lines of CSV. A check passes when the service returns a real result.
- The API front door is checked by fetching the API's description file over HTTPS.
- Typical time is the median time of the passing checks over 30 days, for the work itself. Your own calls also include the time to send your file and receive the result, so bigger files take longer.
- The checks run on our own server. They show whether each service works and how long it takes; they cannot see a problem on the network between us and you.
- Nothing is left out: a failed check counts against the uptime, and bad days stay on the strip.
